Afshin during a provincial visit to Bushehr
Readiness to support knowledge-based innovation in oil and gas industry processes
The Vice President of Science and Technology stated during a visit to the Assaluyeh Port: "In addition to supporting the first-time production of complex and technologically advanced products that play a key role in the oil and gas industries, we support knowledge-based innovation to transform the processes of these industries to improve productivity."

According to the Communication and Information Center in the Vice-Presidency of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, Hossein Afshin, Vice-President of Science, arrived in Assaluyeh this morning, to unveil knowledge-based products produced for the first time and visit the products and technological achievements presented at the 16th South Pars International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition.
Afshin, on the sidelines of the unveiling of knowledge-based products for the first-time production of gas at the South Pars Gas Complex, referred to the excellent progress that has been made in manufacturing advanced and technologically complex products required by the oil and gas industries and stated: "Fortunately, today, part of the needs of these industries have been met by first-time production within the country; the approach of the Vice Presidency for Science is to support the production of knowledge-based products and provide technological services that have higher quality and greater relative advantages in competition with other similar domestic and foreign products. There is no exclusive approach in supporting first-time production, and all knowledge-based companies can participate in the path of first-time production, technology development, and upgrading of first-time products."
He pointed out that linking the oil and gas industries with knowledge-based companies can lead to a transformation in productivity and reduce the country's dependence on imports, adding: "In my opinion, the most important priority that we must move towards today with the help of knowledge-based companies is innovation in processes. Accordingly, we will identify knowledge-based companies that create innovative transformation in the processes of the oil and gas industries and support the linking of these innovations to the target industries."
The Vice President of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, referring to using the capacity of knowledge-based industries to help improve productivity and manage the consumption of oil and gas products, stated: "With the help of knowledge-based products and technological and innovative processes that help manage resources and optimize consumption, we must direct production towards creating added value and national wealth, so that part of the gas production capacity is directed to wealth-creating industries and we promote exports."
Afshin, referring to the government's support for improving efficiency in energy resources with the help of innovative products and solutions, stated: "The 14th government intends to adopt measures, with the help of the people and relying on the innovation of knowledge-based companies, to seriously move energy consumption in buildings, industries, and the production sector towards optimization and maximum efficiency. The realization of the 19th topic of the National Building Regulations to reduce energy waste is one of the priorities that the government is trying to help optimize consumption and improve the efficiency of energy resources by implementing it carefully."
Referring to the unveiling of first-time knowledge-based products needed by the oil and gas industries, the Vice President of Science said: "The products unveiled today are high-tech products, and the Vice Presidency of Science, in cooperation with the Gas Company and the South Pars Complex, has supported the production and commercialization of these knowledge-based products. Trust in the capabilities of knowledge-based companies and confidence in the efficiency of these products is the most important achievement of this cooperation, which paves the way for the entry of domestically manufactured products into the industries. Each of these products has very complex and specific features. With the help of the Knowledge-Based Production Leap Law for first-time production, knowledge-based companies have achieved their products today and are used in the refinery."
Afshin continued: "The most important support for companies producing advanced products in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries is trust in these companies and creating infrastructural and legal opportunities for the production and commercialization of these products. This support must be provided so that, while high technology penetrates and productivity increases, improvements in processes occur."
Visit to the 16th South Pars Oil and Gas Exhibition
The Vice President of Science also visited the Assaluyeh International Exhibitions' permanent site and the knowledge-based products of the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries.
Afshin, while talking to the activists of these companies and learning about their technological capabilities, raised some points regarding the support and cooperation of knowledge-based companies with target industries
This exhibition, with the participation of more than 120 companies active in the fields of oil, gas, refining, and petrochemicals, as one of the largest specialized events in this field, will be held from February 14 to 17 in Assaluyeh, providing the ground for showcasing knowledge-based capabilities in this industry.
